Infrared Saunas and Cardiovascular Health
A question many customers ask before buying their first infrared sauna is straightforward: what does regular use actually do for the heart? Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the air to...
The Cliff earned the Red Dot Award for product design in recognition of its engineering as much as its appearance. It comes in a tall, slim body that keeps the wall-mounted footprint tight while exposing a large load of HUUM sauna stones that absorb and release heat gradually. This produces the rich, authentic Finnish sauna steam (Löyly).
The unit is built from stainless steel with remarkably small safety distances and fits cleanly into any sauna room without disrupting the layout. Its exposed stone structure aligns with Nordic design values — stripped back, functional, and built for repeated daily use.
Each heater in the Cliff series covers a specific cubic footage range. Before you make a purchase, you need to match the unit to your sauna volume. Here's how the lineup breaks down.
The 6 kW model suits saunas up to roughly 265 cubic feet, making it the natural starting point for personal or two-person cabins. It holds up to 44 lbs of sauna stones, which gives the heat mass needed for stable, even temperature without long recovery times between pours. HUUM Cliff 9 kW and 12 kW
Step up to the 9- or 12-kW versions when your sauna serves larger spaces, from mid-size home rooms to near-commercial builds. The 12 kW handles spaces up to around 530 cubic feet and pairs with the UKU Wi-Fi controller for full app-based scheduling. We stock the full Cliff series to make it easy for you to find the right size and configuration for your space.
Matching kW to room volume is the most important decision when specifying a Cliff. The 6kW suits smaller, well-insulated spaces; the 9kW and 11kW cover progressively larger volumes. A practical starting point is to allow roughly 1kW per cubic meter, and adjust upward for tiled surfaces, exterior walls, or glass panels that require more output to reach temperature.
For a broader look across the full HUUM sauna heater range, including the HUUM Steel and HUUM Steel Mini series.
The Cliff pairs with the UKU controller in two formats: UKU Local for straightforward panel operation, and UKU Wi-Fi for scheduling sessions remotely via the HUUM mobile app on your smartphone. Both integrate cleanly with the heater's profile.
If you prefer a wood-fired sauna, consider the HUUM Hive Flow as an alternative.
If you’re comparing electric sauna heaters and want something that fits a modern space without sacrificing proper steam, the HUUM Cliff is built for exactly that. Its slim wall-mounted form saves space, while the large stone capacity delivers softer, longer-lasting heat than typical compact heaters.
